Digital Communications Officer | July 26 – present

Bridport Literary Festival

Revitalising a rural literary festival into a vibrant coastal gathering of leading voices and big thinkers.

The Client

Bridport Literary Festival is an annual cultural event, gathering writers and readers together on the Jurassic Coast. For the past 22 years, the small team has become a speaking destination for top authors through sheer personality and ambition.

The Project

Joining in summer 2026 as Digital Communications Officer, the team were preparing for the first festival under new director, with a programme almost double the size of the previous year. It was a time of change and expansion, with an attempt to bring in new, younger cultural audiences and widen engagement.

My Role

My goal was to tap into new digital audiences, increasing in-person attendance to the festival from demographics outside of the festival’s typical audience. Through vibrant social media campaigns, regular editorial newsletters, and public relations, I’ve nurtured and expanded Bridlit’s community in the local area and beyond. As a result, we’ve surpassed communication KPIs and seen a measurable increase in Friends of the Festival sign-ups.
